This had to have been organized by Stern and Buchwald, right? When he mentioned it today, Howard didn't sound resentful at all about having to give a 20-minute speech to a room full of suits on a topic he knows nothing about. (He claims to listen to no radio shows but his own -- for which he does no preparation, and works just 112 days a year; he just discovered iTunes nine months ago; he has never heard a podcast; he programs his own two Sirius channels with 95% reruns; he owned no music until Gary loaded him up with a library of free and stolen mp3s last year; and before his last contract was up, he proclaimed that SIM cards were the future of broadcasting.)

Is this just more foreplay in Stern and Buchwald's attempt to seduce Sirius into another contract? Or did Sirius call this meeting to help them decide if Stern will be "around" in 2016?

He's a 1990s shock jock relic attempting to "evolve" into a 2000s style Rosie, Ellen or The View. How could you possibly ask this guy about the future of radio?

They should have had the podcasts they air on SXM like Joe Rogan, Bob Kelly, Rich Vos come in and talk about it.

Probably more Howard Bullshit. Most likely he going to have a ten minute conference call with the executives at SiriusXM (the one who hold the purse strings) and try to convince them that the nearly half billion dollars they've spent on him was worth it. :badmusic:

Howard discoursing on the future of radio is as laughable as Lindsay Lohan advocating "the benefits of chastity and sobriety"

Audio of the speech could have more comedy potential than the programs on his channels - maybe he'll go with a few "last of a dying breed" drops.

I have the exclusive of the topics Howard discussed about the future of radio.

    1. Why radio is no longer a habitual medium.
    2. Sim Cards: Why every radio executive needs to know about them
    3. Podcasts: The fad is over
    4. 7AM - The new start to morning drive

Its sad when making fun of the show is more fun than actually listening to the show.

yes, that's exactly it--executives always kowtow to agents and give them their free time in order to be manipulated

Stern is gonna pledge to come up with new ways to prank the urine drenched suckers.
No one in the history of histories had gorilla marketed like the wigged fraud!
Stern is so so desperate to get another Sirius contract!
In the past when he had the upper hand he would be skull fucking management by now.

I wonder if you took the existing HSS staff and crew of whack packers, slip in two established radio hosts (Carolla, etc) from somewhere else, and carried on as usual, (pre 2007 style) if Sirius wouldn't be better off. They all work for peanuts and a new set of hosts would cost maybe $5M tops. Net savings $75M a year. The key would be retaining the known set of whack packers, sycophants, and staff to help the new guys retain listeners till they caught on. I know I would be curious what the show would be like w/o Howard, Robin, and probably Fred. Spend some of that $75M on marketing and you might net out positive vs keeping him around.

Did Howard dress like P.T. Barnum and strike his typical Messiah pose?
