Discussion in 'The Howard Stern Show' started by GaryPuppet, Sep 17, 2013.
That is the first real thing Howard has said in years!
Every now and again he will say something like that. One of the infamous ones that was an Opie and Anthony sound board drop when the two shows were still feuding was...
"Lets face it, I've been doing subpar radio for 10 years!" And that was like, 2006. If he thought '96-2006 was subpar, what the fuck is 2013?
he was referring to his hands being tied by the FCC in that comment.
It's meaning was that once he got to Sirius, the show would be great again.
...yesterday after the weak "hiyoooooooooooooooooooooo...." bit, howard said to fred, "wow are we that bankrupt".
I haven't listened in a while because of the above mentioned truths.
If Howard is saying that....
Then clearly he is about to call it quits Sooner rather than later.
The FCC must have given him the most wicked case of PTSD imaginable. He hasn't done anything newsworthy in years.
Not just a "slacker" when you con people into paying for your show with false promises...
We all know the answer to that question.
And this wasn't even the first time Howard initiated that bit. In fact I'm pretty sure he's done in at least once already in the past year.
All that carrying on about the FCC for years was a red herring anyway, a smokescreen to try to seem more interesting. Maybe instead of blaming the FCC for not being able to do good, funny radio, maybe he just couldn't do great funny radio like he arguably once did in the 90's.
The proof: He can say whatever he wants now that he's on Sirius. No FCC. And guess what, he's more dull and unfunny ever. Boring to the point of brain damage.
It is ironic. He still goes around acting like his Sirius show is unfiltered when he does his occasional interview. His show is more neutered now than it ever was by the FCC. I thought the post-Sirius announcement terrestrial show sucked, but it was 1000x better than the current pile of shit.
He thinks that by doing as little as possible with the show and the channels he's getting back at Sirius for the lawsuit, unaware that his his show is meaningless in the big picture of SiriusXM.
...yup I think it stared out that way but ended up bringing the show down to the lowest low. in trying to hurt Sirius howard hurt himself. and btw he was telling mike Tyson not to over expose himself ith too many tv shows and appearences. I wonder why he doesn't give beth the same advice. shes brooke Hogan x10.
I think it started with Artie. For whatever reason, Howard refused to deal with that problem and it made him miserable trying to do the show with Artie nodding off every day. That misery came across loud and clear. Then came the lawsuit. Whatever interest Howard still had in the show after Artie was finally dealt with went right out the window with the lawsuit. Proof positive that he was trying to get back at Sirius was when he stuck to his contracted show time and was out at 10:00am like clockwork. Hilarious. He ruined his show to teach his employer a lesson. It's like when our kids get mad at us and break their toys.
The worst thing, is the FCC was utterly toothless in the 1990s and culture at a whole with the rebellious Generation X sensibilities
and permissive Clinton administration permitted Stern to get away with sheer bloody murder.
The shows in the 90s are more raw and controversial than satellite radio for almost every show I've heard. Ron and Fez,
Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern did brutal things all throughout the 90s. The FCC didn't do shit.
He wishes she was Brooke Hogan.
Greedy lazy serial liar
Did Stern have one fact correct during the Tyson interview?
....and he is reading those monologue jokes for the first time on the air....
Meaningless? It's a 100 million dollar money pit.
