Something is very, very wrong when you are supposedly pouring hours of prep into show ideas
and the best you can come up with is a spelling bee, sound byte origin game and superfan trivia contest.

That;s what happends when you turn what was an edgy show pc, thus immediately drying up the wells you once went to repeatedly for humor.

Maybe tomorrow we can have a geography test and a name the presidents quiz. Then for the gran finale a quiz on the periodic table.

And then he repeated his rant on Anne Hathaway again at the SAG awards.

Im sure John Malone and Jim Meyer are thoroughly impressed! :thumbup2:

Hopefully next week Howard assigns book reports to the staff which are then presented and graded on air by Howard

Doesn't this smack of desperately trying to ingratiate himself with the new Sirius suit?

Why else all the sudden pseudo-ambition? :dontknow:

In a way it was much, much better when he was putting 0.0 effort into the show; at least then he could pretend he was wearing a loin cloth or underwear or something.

But if it's taking actual effort to suck this bad..................................

I liked when Howard casually mentioned that he was going to write a blog post for howardstern.com yesterday, but there was some kind of technical problem. As if this was a normal thing for him to do. For the past six years at Sirius, he's proudly avoided putting any effort into his the show outside of sitting in the studio for the required hours -- no talking to his own news team, no sitting in on other shows on his channels (or even listening to other shows on his channels, unless he's getting paid to do it on air), no broadcasting from home using the hardware Sirius provided, and definitely no Friday writing meetings. Now he's "notebook full of ideas" Howard from 2005 again, trying to sell everyone on how hard he works on his Sirius channels. And now Fred and Robin are even participating in prerecorded bits. It's all very strange. Yesterday Howard claimed he didn't need to work, but he does because "he digs it."

The scary thing is that if these were the "gold" ideas, imagine the harrible bits that didn't make the cut.

This whole JD clip of the week thing is a fuckin disaster. Just end it already.

Have you noticed all the jingles and tunes for their lame bits they have been producing lately?

Howard definitely trying to make an impression as if he is working hard on his show.

I remember at some point in the late 90's, they had this idea to be like a normal morning zoo and break the show into segments, separating them with a jingle or some sort of annoying sound collage. I wanted to throw my radio out the window. It only lasted a few weeks, I can't imagine who thought it would be a good idea. Probably came from a Stern brainstorming session, along with the annoying "Stolen Vehicle Police Recovery Network" bit.
