I've been binge listening to the era of shows right before and after Jackie leaving (March/April 2001) and it's a perfect example of why Howard was once good and now blows. Some things which are sorely missed (and which made it good): - At the start of the show, and all through he show, crew come and go freely in and out of the studio and shoot-the-shit. - Not a lot of guests, but when they do have a guest: - The guests are fast and light. Some big names, a lot of small names. The show feels light on it's feet unlike currently where they overhype a "big" guest and the show slows to molasses speed while they focus a whole show around them. - Lots of callers -- positive and negative. - Lots of phoner guests Legendary bits in these short few weeks: - Cabby reveals his gay antics - KC goes on a trip with HP Eric - Robin can't come to grips with failing to recognize Howard's "Pollack" painting among 5 real ones. She goes ballistic (remember 'organized chaos'?). - Howard can't deal with his inner sanctum being revealed by Lyla Arcieri ...more that I'm sure I missed (And here are tons more to add to the list: http://www.dawgshed.com/threads/sit...e-occasional-lol-because.142223/#post-8892400) THIS was good radio. Lots of laughs. For those who say 'I can't believe I liked this guy', don't worry, you were right to like the show. Not anymore.
