We all knew Howard would fail miserably at AGT and so far he has done just that with terrible ratings and little fanfare past the first show.

Last week he spent some time wondering why they went with the show 2 weeks early.....but generally stopped at that. Yesterday he spent the first hour crying about AGT was going up against the wrong shows and was in the wrong TV spot time-wise. Just heard a replay this morning of yesterdays show with "I wish NBC had the shows interest at heart".....Huh?

People wanted to know which excuse he would use for the bad ratings and we are already seeing which one he will harp on.

Well, Howard will never, ever blame himself for when something he is involved in that tanks miserably. He thinks the low ratings are about the competition instead of the fact that he is a big bore that no one is interested in. He's too tame for his fans and too disgusting for Middle American.

Hey Howard delivered. His audience is watching in full force at 9 million strong. It is NBC's fault that the 12.9 million viewers from last year dropped off because they didn't know AGT started two weeks early.

And two weeks from now when it's number 1 against the 3rd re-run of Glee and an episode of NCIS from last year he'll be crowing about how people heard how good he was on the show and started tuning in.

    Exactly!

Reading about this is entertaining. Still haven't watched or have the slighted interest in watching the show.

The network paying for everything "doesn't have the show's interest at heart"? What does that even mean?

I might be wrong, but I've always thought of Howard as an "East Coast-centric", acquired taste talent, who had a brief period where the stars aligned (fueled by the FCC witch hunt) and he became a national figure. I don't get the "hip Hollywood" love for Howard over the past couple of years, but maybe that gave NBC a false sense that he has a multi-demographic appeal. I really don't think he ever had that and if the ratings are any indication, it shows.

I'm sure the execs at NBC are wondering why they paid that jerk off $15 million while he was on his way down in his career and had alienated most of his fans.
