I know Howard's an egomaniac, but Monday he said something mind blowing. While complaining about the gig. And the rumors going around. Howard says about Cowell. "The job is attractive now that I made the show good again."

Correct if I'm wrong, but haven't the ratings dropped every year since he's been on it? Does he believe this bullshit? That was one of the craziest things he's said in many years.

Howard genuinely believes he has brought credibility, integrity and a cool factor to the show. But I'm sure NBC would rather have back the 1 out of 3 AGT viewers who left when Howard joined the judging panel than a dog act who only signed up because of the show's cool factor.

The show had the highest ratings in it's history the year before Howard joined, there was an immediate 20+% drop when Howard started. He was named "Loser of the Summer" by Entertainment Weekly. The attractiveness to the job will be that Simon may be able to get those people back.

It's going to be funny when Simon comes back and the show is big again. I can't wait to hear how the Wig will spin that one .

This is why Buchwald always insisted Howard take his terrestrial radio show to the stations with the lowest numbers in their market. When there's no place to go but up, you are guaranteed to look like a winner. Howard has said time and time again that you don't take over a successful show, because the only thing you can do is ruin it. But his narcissism got in the way of his better judgment, and in the end he proved how right Buchwald always was.

I hope they do a Super Bowl commercial with Simon blasting Howard off the judges panel with a fire hose.

Since the Stern effect is so powerful, Howard should take over Simon's Britain's Got Talent and the UK X-Factor gigs.

Instead of boasting, that would show Simon who's the primo judge.

So on one hand Wiggy's tried to claim that it was he who decided to quit the show even though NBC "wanted him to keep doing it", but then he bitches about Simon Cowell "wanting his job." Fucking liar.

Obviously that email from the Sony leak discussing getting rid of Wiggy and bringing in Simon was accurate. NBC wanted him out.

Simon could chase the Wig off the set with a plastic coffee stirrer out of a Starbucks coffee.

As I was watching the show last night, sitting through the dance act and escape artist who aren't even affiliated with the show, I thought, Wow, Howard has always said that he watched and loved this show even before he was on it. This is how bad his taste truly is.

    The Losers
    Howard Stern

The shock jock was supposed to be an inspired addition to NBC’sAmerica’s Got Talent, but the show is down 18 percent on Tuesdays and he’s just not that, well, shocking. Now that Sharon Osbourne is leaving, perhaps Stern should follow her out the door?

I never saw it until the Wig came on. After that the show became something to watch to see the Wig make a fool of himself .

You're right, it was a stupid move to join a show that had gone up four years in a row in ratings and had the dominant summer position. That first year, before Heidi and Mel joined and stabilized things a bit, is the most embarrassing in the show's history both in viewership and ratings. They lost multiple times to Masterchef in the ratings and the viewership dropped below 10 million 15 times out of 31 shows. This after predictions of 15 million plus from Stern's TV expert Jon Hein. Both the tremendous fall from the previous year and the stabilization after two other judges were added point to one thing: Howard Stern is a ratings killer

The 2 biggest marble heists of the century.
-Pranking Sirius out of one billion marbles!
-Pranking NBC/AGT into a multi year deal....quitting before he was fired....leaving the show on life support.....and spinning it into a win!
    Howard Stern is a genius!!!!

He forgot to say the last part "I made the show good again by leaving".
