Listening to the show today, I never realized how much Howard owes to David Brenner. If David was so instrumental in the beginning of Howard's career, why was this not in Private parts?

Howard can say whatever he wants now. David is no longer here to tell us the real story.

Listening to Howard's "tribute" to David Brenner, I never realized that Brenner's career so much all about Howard. I mean it was a touching tribute when Howard played a clip from Brenner where Brenner went on and on about how much a genius Howard was and how WNBC didn't utilize his genius.

Only Howard could turn an eulogy of a comedian whose career spanned about five decades into all about Howard.

...clearly david brenner spent most of his time singing the praises of howard stern. david would have used howard in his stand up act except for the part about howard not being funny.

hey douchetard...first of all, wipe Howard's shit off your nose...I can smell in from here...You're ugly enough....Second, when you pay a tribute to someone, you comments should center on what made them "great" not why the dead thought you were "great" !!!

Only the wigged fraud turns everything into a narcissistic tribute to himself....

Huh?!? It is one thing about talking about personal experiences it is another thing to play clips of that person ball washing you in the tribute. Howard played two clips. One was about him being a pall bearer in Brenner's funeral and the other one is Brenner ballwashing Howard. That is narccissism at its height.

It would be like going to a funeral and hear someone euologize their father and spend the entire time speaking about his own life and how his father thought he was the most brilliant person on the planet.

A eulogy is about the person you are tributing. You bring in personal experiences to the eulogy, but you don't turn the eulogy into how the person you are honoring thought you were a genius. Well, unless you are Howard Stern and everything is about Howard and how great he is.

No response required, I don't dignify posts that resort to personal attacks because I disagree with you

I listened to his tribute, and they way I took it was that Howard was grateful for how David Brenner, who was a huge star at the time, put his reputation at NBC on the line to go to bat for Howard. He played a clip about Brenner telling his true age, since that was a running gag for Brenner throughout his career. He spoke of how Brenner never got the accolades that he should have, his devotion to his kid re: the custody battle.

    It wasn't all about Howard

    Standard Stern eulogy.
The proverbial stab in the back while hugging his 'friend' he barely talked to in years and probably said mostly no to as a guest for 15 years using the Booey shield.
Brenner was on the Stern show less than 5 times this century?

Good thing Paul Reiser wrote a Brenner tribute or else Sterns tribute would have been mostly about Stern.

Brenner was a guy more famous than stern that he used 25 years ago.
Once Howard was more famous than David their 'friendship' was over.

It wasn't all about Howard. That isn't fair, Howard's tribute to Brenner was only 65% about the genius of Howard Stern and how much of special talent Brenner thought Howard really was.

But in fairness to Howard, how can anyone argue that David Brenner's greatest gift to the entertainment world was recognizing Howard as a special entertainer before everyone else.
