    Gigs are already booked.
Next year Shuli can figure out his new Stern show comedy angle.

Bullshit. The Block parties have gone from one a weekend to twice a month to once a month. Few venues want to book the Block Party anymore. Howard is putting an end to them because Shuli and Ronnie can't book enough rooms to keep it going and they want to end it. This is a way for Howard to save face. Instead of them canceling the Block Party because of lack of interest, Howard canceled it because too many people are trying to capitalize on his name. Lack of interest makes Howard look like a washed up hasbeen.

BTW, they only have two shows currently booked for the rest of the year on their site. They have a gig at The Spotlight Theater in Hartford in June. The Spotlight Theater is a movie theater, not a club.

In July, they have a gig at the Horseshoe Casino in beautiful Hammond Indiana. If you go to the website, there is no mention of the Block Party even though they list major concerts and comedy shows through September.

Interesting take. For some reason, I was under the impression that the Block Party was doing extremely well.

I, therefore. thought that Howard simply cancelled it out of jealousy. He couldn't have anyone else do well when his AGT was tanking.

I was thrilled to see the group of them able to make some money on the side. You just know he pays them the barest minimum. Also, Howard has to be a pain in the ass to work for, so I was glad to see them have some fun.

Also because at least half them are unemployable outside of the HSS, and as Howard has zero loyalty to them they'll be on skid row without outside gigs.

Quite possible. Remember when the Killers of Comedy would pack places, especially if Artie was involved? Howie doesn't need yet another Stern related venture to be an embarassment due to lack of fan interest.

That's what I thought too. If they were doing poorly, then all of the Scot Salem-Shuli fights about money were all staged. Maybe they were, who knows anymore. More importantly, who cares?

If they were successful, they would be booked through the end of the year and they could get better venues than a movie theater that serves alcohol or a casino in the middle of nowhere.

Of course, on the air they tried to make it sound like they are wildly successful because if people knew they couldn't get good venues or many gigs, it would make Howard look bad. I mean back in the 90s, everyone on the show were getting crazy money for appearances from Gary and Stuttering John to interns who rarely got on the air. Gary and John were getting $10-20k to show up at a place for an hour or two.

How does it look now that a show with half the back office staff still hasn't sold out a show they are doing in three weeks at a six screen movie theater complex that currently is showing "hot" movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Fast Time at Ridgemont High, and ParaNorman? They can't find enough people to sell out a movie theater in a decent size city of Hartford? What does the theater sit? Two or three hundred people?

Considering they break out the same fight every three to six months or so, you are just getting it that that fight is staged?

If BOR had to go because 'Howard needed everybody concentrating solely on his show,' then the Block Party needs to go too.
