    That's right, although Howard said they wrote the lyrics for a different song and Elton decided they'd go better in that song.

    Yes the big story was that Elton supposedly ad libbed all the music to go with the lyrics because he didn't want to spoil his own song with Jackie's silly lyrics. (I forget which hit they intended him to parody.)

    Why won't they let, Howard Stern, on Tee Vee?

    For some reason I always thought that was a parody of some other song. I remember thinking it was neat how he could quickly map lyrics from one song to another... ad libbing something makes more sense. :doh:
