Hmmm That's gonna piss off Howard. "The closest thing to Simon Cowell" implies that he's no Simon Cowell! That wont go over well with Howard, who in his mind is clearly head and shoulders above Cowell, and everyone else who has ever judged anything for that matter.

 

I read all of this AGT bullshit and I sometimes wonder if Howard is pulling some grand absurdist prank on us all. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. This is still a second tier summer talent contest featuring Nick Cannon, Sharon Osborne and Howie Mandel, right?

Gary was on TWUS talking about how Howard is such an amazing judge that this has changed the way Gary approaches judging and that Howard takes this job "very seriously". I mean, statements like that tell me that Stern has created a cult of delusional idiots surronding him who have very little footing in the real world.

That's why I can only hope Howard does something truly outrageous on one of the live shows and lets us know that he's in on the joke, but unfortunately this seems to be the "new" Howard.

 

I agree, Howard is close to Simon Cowell. They're both egotistical over-rated loudmouthed assholes.

Of the two, I'd rather hang out with Simon. He would get drunk and chase bitches till 5 am. Howie will pop an Ambien at 7pm, jerk off his little prick, and go to bed.

 

Howard already admitted he has a thing for "damaged women" and it seems like he intentionally surrounds himself with damaged people who are easy to manipulate. Ever notice how many of his friends and employees are insecure guys with "daddy issues" who idolize Howard and are desperate for his approval? Gary gets so upset when Howard criticizes him he sounds like he's going to cry and Ralph, J.D., and Brandano are a few of the others who also fit the profile.

 

Good point and it even seems to extend to some celebrities too. Why would people like Rosie, Ellen, Nick Cannon, etc. want to associate with Howard after the shit he's said about them? Maybe celebrities with FU money just don't care, it's easier to kiss and make up, then have some pride and call bullshit on Stern. I mean, is his "bully pulpit" two days a week on SIRIUS that intimidating anymore? I don't get it.

Simon made idol bearable when I watched it, uh, with my wife. Howie wil make agt entrusting for me to watch but not for the reason he thinks

 

It's pretty much a guarantee that somehwere down the line(if he hasn't said it already) that without him there would be no Simon Cowell or American Idol or talent shows in general because he honestly believes he created the talent show format.
