Ten years ago today....
Howard Stern announces Sirius deal October 6th 2004
The prank begins as well as the deceit.
Howard's CBS contract had a clause in it which stated that before he signed elsewhere CBS had the right to make a counter-offer. The good company man and his astute agent conveniently forgot about that clause and their integrity.
Seated from left to right - Tons of Money for No Work, CEO Money, Hollywood Money
Howard did it for us!
Howard ain't going to Sirius for the money. He is going for FREEDOM!
Know more bullshit.
Rodney is dead!
Died: October 5, 2004
Note: I don't think his actual notebook was quite that big.
I'm gonna need bigger boots.
The shit is thigh high 10 minutes in.....
All that wasted money on useless equipment and ridiculous cost/year.
The man was going to develop a whole new generation of radio talent until he decided it was easier to just pocket the cash for himself and run replays and Riley Martin for $400 a week.
Silly Booey asked Howard if the revolution would be commercial free.
Howard said he wasn't sure....
Heidi Cortez (born March 11, 1981) is an American entrepreneur (actress, model, producer, and writer). In November 2005, Cortez was hired by Howard Stern to be the radio host and co-writer on his Sirius XMsatellite channel. On the show, Cortez would read comical, saucy bedtime stories to the listeners at the end of the day. As of August 2006, the show was canceled.
My god the amount of lies being told in that segment are unbelievable. Pluggy has no integrity.
subscription incentive carrots caused Howard to spend a few bucks on talent in the beginning until he found out he wasn't a partner.....then he pocketed ALL the marbles.
die 2004 Robin die
Something tells me that Sirius figured out he wasn't a partner either when he sold all his stock the day he went on air.
God damn it. Listening to this speech, I just felt myself get the same twinge of excitement about the possibilities of satellite radio that I got when I first heard it 10 years ago. That asshole turned a devoted fan who would've followed him anywhere into a guy who hate-listens just to hear him fail.
