-Howard loved the small town atmosphere?

-Howard talks to guys in radio. Not sure where guys are gonna get a chance in radio. Big corporations have taken over.

Maybe someday Howard will have a revolution with radio channels....rebel rebel

It's a relief to know he is as boring on someone elses show as his own.

I enjoyed the interview. More of a real Howard than the phony one on Sirius.

Howard is worried about the state of radio and evil corporations running them.
In unrelated news Howard pocketed all the revolution marbles.....and has a fucking channel (Howard101) of nothingness.
    :jj:

I think Stern sensed he was heading down the hypocrisy highway and took the doodle fork in the road.

I don't know about that. There's lots of asshole Howard in there. He was playing it off as a joke, but he did joke that if the guy wanted to stay friends, he better destroy that audition tape. It's a nice prelude to Howard's MO of threatening people and censoring the past.

Plus, THAT VOICE!!! Robin sounds the same but Howard sounds like a nasly weasel.

104.1 sucks now too ever since they came back from going black/rap. WDRC just got bought out my the same company that owns 99.1, and they made it sound exactly the same. Pure shit. I love classic rock, but how many classic rock stations does one market need? WAQY 102, 102.9, 105.9, 99.1....wtf. And what are those douches that bought WCCC thinking? It's only a matter of time before they lose enough revenue that they're back to playing rock music again.

Thank god for USB, 1 64 gig stick will hold enough mp3's to last you a lifetime.

    I grew up in CT.

WCCC was a constant growing up.
I even remember listening to Howard when he first came to WCCC in 1979.
I had just graduated High School.

When Howard went to WNBC, I would listen to Imus in the morning and Howard in the afternoon.
Back then WNBC had a great signal that you could pick up in CT.
Imus used to have some great bits back then.
One of the funniest was Geraldo Santana Banana.
It really mocked Geraldo Rivera mercilessly.

When Howard syndicated and came back to WCCC, those were the glory days for the station.
Sy Dresner, the infamously cheap owner, sold the station back in 1998.
He even came on the air with Howard the day he sold the station.

It's sad to have real institution like WCCC gone.

Actually, the move to Classic Rock gave them their best books in years.
Unfortunately, that didn't translate to profitability but it did enable the station ownership to get a decent price for the station.
WCCC was failing miserably financially for at least a decade before this sale.

Just a few years ago, their slogan was "Live....Local....and Asskicking". So much for that.

I don't ever remember WCCC getting great numbers except back in the late 90's when they simulcasted Howard in the morning. They've always been towards the bottom of the books for the market. 100.5 and the Country station always dominated.

I can still remember when the slogan was "Southern New England's Best Rock".

I left CT back in the early 1990's.
Sebastian and Diane were the morning team back then.

I thought it was hilarious that they ended up in WHCN's building.
When I was in CT, they were in the ass end of building in the South End of Hartford on South Whitney St.
The store in front was a typewriter place back then if I remember correctly.
Judging by the photos from the last day, it doesn't look like they changed the carpet from back when Piccozi and The Horn were doing WHCN mornings.
