Listening to the rant again about yesterday's article. I'm starting to think this is a PR stint to help garner publicity for the piece of shit movie by Seth Rogan. I really think Howard is on Sonys payroll to try to get asses in the seat for this movie.

Death threats and the fact that Sony is now letting theater's opt-out of showing it if they choose

...more than likely the movie is so shitty sony knew it wouldnt even fly on dvd. if its a work its to make some money back from internet downloads. the most reasonable explanation is its somebody from the mass lay offs at sony, many of which were in the i.t. department.

...sony told rogan and franco to stop all promo interviews immediately so the promotion tour is done.

And once again the power of Stern gets results..
‘The Interview’ New York Premiere Canceled
The premiere of Seth Rogen and James Franco’s comedy “The Interview” in New York has been canceled in the wake of a message sent by the Sony hackers that threatened a 9/11-style attack on theaters showing the film.

Additionally, Carmike Cinemas, which operates in 278 theaters across the U.S., decided to cancel its planned showings of the film.

I still think it is a piece of shit movie, Sony knew it and is running with the "death Threats" thing. It's going to turn into "if you don't see this movie, the terrorist have one" type of thing.
I don't know maybe I'm just too cynical about everything.

That's why I think they are playing up the "death threats" at the movie theater thing. I wonder if there is an insurance policy that pays out if a movie can not be released due to an act of terrorism or something like that.

I don't know. Something is just fishy about the whole thing. I think Sony realized too late that this movie is terrible, and with or with out this act of terrorism, they are going to lose alot of money on it.

The cancellation will also put a damper on Beefus solo walk on the red carpet and interrupts Plughead and Ralphie planned cuddling session tonight

Some nerdy kids secreted away in one of their parent's cellars are cackling more loudly than The Gunt over the mayhem created and fear they've fomented.

I'm all for not "letting the terrorists win", but is a Seth Rogan movie really worth this much of a headache? It would have been forgotten in a matter of weeks after release and at the bottom of the barrel of your VideoOnDemand or Netflix cue.

And when it was eventually shown in cable, you'd watch it for about 5 minutes and say, "what is this shit?" and change the channel.

Stern was never this outspoken about all the other high profile hacking in recent months, I.e. Home Depot, Target, etc...never heard him rant about these.
