howard is a shithead. Fury road was very nearly a perfect movie. howard thought "50 shades of gray" was good, so what the fuck does that tell you
I really wanted to like "Mad Max : Fury Road" but I was disappointed. I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy, especially "The Road Warrior" which I consider to be one of the best films ever made. Can anyone who likes the original trilogy explain to me why Fury Road is so good?
I agree. It was least favorite of all the Mad Max movies.
I watched it
I didn't like it
i like it
It was no Fifty Shades of Gray
haha what a douche wig is
It was a bigger version of Road Warrior. Better FX, more action-packed.
@dawg hated it, as did a lot of people here
It tells me that people have different opinions about movies
George Miller even said that he wanted to basically make it like the original, but with all the tools and tech that did not exist back then. He took a already good story and just modernized everything about it. In a time when most movies are remakes of remakes and are getting worse and worse, George Miller basically remade his own movie and made what many consider a masterpiece in the process.
The one time he's right on something.
The entire movie is the last truck chase from Road Warrior where he kills Lord Humongous -- but drawn out 2 hours
tells me way more than that
and I loved every moment
and what it tell you, is not going to be the same things it "tells" someone else.
That may be true but the story was shit. However, everyone I say that to replies..."Yeah, but it's a Mad Max movie. None of them have stories, they're all about the cars and the action scenes", which couldn't be further from the truth. Also, what was the need for Charlize Theron's character? She was practically interchangeable with Max, just make the fucking movie with her as the lead and have it be "a story from the Mad Max universe". There was way too much CGI for a Mad Max film. I was hoping that the stunt work would be indistinguishable from the Originals and was really expecting to see stunts and "practical effects" which Fury Road didn't provide much of. Plus, the whole thing just felt like a giant piece of neo-feminist propaganda which I get enough of in our current political climate, no need for it in an "escapist" film. I'm sure George Miller will make a sequel due to the overwhelming and unexpected success of Fury Road, I just know that I won't be seeing it.
