    From MarksFriggin'

Howard took a call from a guy who said he thinks that Howard is a bit of a sell out. He said that it's not that he's doing 3 shows a week. He said that they replay the same shows over and over. Howard said he made a decision to do 3 shows because he wanted to retire. He said that he had the opportunity to do 3 days instead of no days. The caller said that not having a birthday show wasn't cool either. The caller said they look forward to the birthday shows. Robin said they haven't done a birthday show in years. The caller said he knows that. that's what they miss. Howard said that he only does a certain number of shows a year and that's that. He said that there are less shows but he's doing 4 or 5 hours for those 3 shows a week. The caller said that they pay for this though. He said that they're only getting him for 2 shows a week sometimes. Howard said he gets vacation and he takes that time off.

The caller was talking over Howard so he obviously didn't want to hear his answer. Howard hung up on him. Gary said they do 112 live shows a year. Howard said that he's doing a 4-5 hour show and it's not that easy. He said getting up that early is grueling. Howard said that you walk around like a zombie. He said that it's tough. He said he talked to Nick Cannon about it and Nick had to quit his morning show. Howard said to be a morning man you have to give up almost everything. He said you have to win and compete and it becomes your whole life.

Howard said there is room for nothing unless you want to be mediocre. He said to be great you have to put everything into the show. He said if you're just doing it as part time work it'll never happen for you. Howard said just doing 3 days a week is a tremendous effort for him.

Howard said that they have figured out what the audience wants to hear and that's what they play in the time that he's off. Howard said on one channel they play the shows from the week and on the other channel they play other replays. Howard said if you don't like it then you go on with your life and listen to something else. He said that they assume that most people don't' sit there for 4 hours straight. Howard said if you don't want to hear an interview then change to another channel. Howard said they have music, talk shows, and a lot of other stuff on there. Howard said this caller wouldn't listen to him. He said if that's being a sell out then he's a sell out. Howard said it was very tough doing 5 days a week so he cut back. Howard said America's Got Talent is a whole different kind of thing. He doesn't have to get up at the crack of dawn and it's not his show. He said it's a different thing.

Lmao Did he really say Nick Cannon quit his job because he could not handle getting up early? Guess his deteriorating health and warnings from his doctors to slow down had nothing to do with it. This man gets more and more delusional. Millions of people get up that early 5-6 days a week. Not 2-3. It is called working you spoiled twat!

It's Howard's choice to have is radio show in the morning. I don't have any sympathy for that decision.

I don't feel like looking for the exact quote, but before the latest contract Mel K. stated that the Show needs to be live for the morning drive time audience.

Howard could start the show anytime he wants to. Sirius wouldn't have offered him the same huge contract but he would still make huge money. Rush Limbaugh's show is 12-3pm EST. Rush got $38 million a year and $100 million dollar signing bonus for 8 years. It's all about Howard. His ego won't let him work anytime except the morning. He thinks he is still competing with Morning Zoos. He said Sirius wants him to work 6-10am. That is total bullshit. They would have taken Howard back on any schedule he wanted. He works 3 days a week. Do you think it's that important that the show 6-10am. If he started the show at 8am EST you would still be getting morning drive on West Coast and plenty of morning drive on the East Coast. If Howard didn't re-up for the second contract at Sirius he still had enough money to last a millennium .

to expand that point, hardcore fans will listen no matter what time he's on. so a new time would only stand to gain new listeners in that new time/market. he would also get better guests at a later time.

I still suspect that all of the callers are shills, and this shill gave Howard the vehicle to explain his side of the story.

Howard originaly claimed that Sirius pretty much demanded him to work the 6am shift.....few months later Howard said he wish he would have asked for a later start time. The truth to the matter is, Howard is an early bird and wants to just wake up and get the show done with as he hates sitting around in anticipation for anything.....take AGT for exampe....He does not know how to relax when he has something to do later that day....He admitts that all the time... Detroit.

The show is essentially a live podcast at this point, though even by podcasting standards, 2 shows a week is sparse.
