    From MarksFriggin'

Howard came back and said that was a beautiful tune from Scott. He had Jon Leiberman come in with an update about Fred and the One Direction thing. He said he has an idea where this is going and it's not good. He said he knows it's going to make him mental.

Jon came in and Howard said he knows where this is going. Howard explained how they had a Town Hall thing up there with the band One Direction and Fred wanted to come with his daughter. He said Fred was told no by Scott (Greenstein). Howard said his point is that Fred is very important to the company. He said they treat him like he's a shithead. Howard said if he had asked himself then he would have been told yes.

Jon told Howard that there were two celebrities there the day of the event and they were allowed into the event. Howard said he knows something about that. He said he knows who the celebrities were. Howard said that if they gave those two a radio show they'd have to be morons. Howard said that they would get no listeners or subscribers. Howard said Fred, who is working there, is treated like a shithead. Howard said he's so much more important than anyone else there. Howard said that these two shitheads have no business on radio. Robin said it's not the celebrities fault. Howard said she's right. Howard said they did nothing wrong. He said he won't reveal the names of those celebrities.

Howard said he's so sick and tired of the way things are going around there. Howard said if he was on terrestrial then they'd be begging Fred to come over there.

Jon told Howard that another radio show there won the chance to send one person to the event with a plus one. Jon said that they were going to go to the event and screw up the whole event with a porn star. He said someone else told Scott Greenstein about that and that person was disciplined. Jon said that another show there at Sirius was ready to blow up the whole event.

Howard said he loves Sirius. He said he loves the opportunity that he got there. He said he loves the company more than anyone who works there. Howard said he wouldn't be an advocate of sabotaging the event. Howard said that Fred should be treated like the B or C list celebrities that were there. Howard said he's really got to get off of this because they suck the dicks of celebrities that are flashes in the pan. Howard said Fred is the biggest celebrity there. Howard said he hates to break that to the company but that's the way it is.

I DO agree that they are trying to cater to a group of people who will not pay for the service.
How many adults with the means to pay for Sirius are One Direction fans? I doubt that the company would pony up the money to pay for advertising in the girly magazines that cater to One Direction fans, especially for a Town Hall event with so few fans are admitted. :dontknow:

Howard can't get used to the fact that he's no longer the all important cog that made the company viable. He was responsible for a couple million subscriptions when he came over. Since the merger that 2 million subscriptions has become less than 10% of the overall subscriber base of over 23 million. If he left and every one of the 2 million Stern subs left with him the company would still retain around 91% of it's subscription base. The more likely scenario of a few hundred thousand cancellations wouldn't even register on their radar. One good month of car sales would replace them.

It's actually rather amusing how delusional he is when it comes to the other folks on Sirius. I only listen to the shows when he's live (until they drive me batshit), otherwise I almost never bother with either channel. I have too many other shows on demand that actually entertain me. :c

Fred's entire job seems to be playing the crow sound effect when Mary Ann from Brooklyn calls.

That begs the question: why did they re-sign him? The only thing I can think of is that they didn't want to kill a fragile and slowly growing stock by firing the loudmouth.

Great fucking point. Who needs the shit publicity from Wiggy.

But they forgot all of The Pelican's business relationships end in a lawsuit. It's the one thing all of Howard's past employers have in common: It's always gotten legal.

Sirius let Howard turn his show into an AGT infomercial and work two day work weeks during audition season to accomodate his moonlighting job where there was no apparent increase in subscriptions due to Howard being on AGT. He should be grateful for that.

A large percentage of his fans hated the AGT Wrap Up Show starring Howard Stern and Robin Quivers, but Howard didn't care and put subscriptions in jeopardy because Howard was desperate to stop the AGT ratings from falling even farther. So Howard fucked over Sirius for his other Sirius. And he expects Sirius to kiss his ass for that?

As usual, Howard is completely missing the point. The event was for SUBSCRIBERS, if they let Fred attend they'd have to open it up to all employees. They had a raffle to choose one employee and a guest who could go and Fred lost. Get over it.

The funny thing is Howard had no problem when the Paul McCartney concern was for subscribers only except a handful of Sirius MVPs like him, Robin, and Fred got tickets while the rest of the Stern staff were blocked for going. Howard feels a subscriber only event is a great thing as long as the rules don't apply to him and his golden circle of staff.
