Based on his recent eulogy, America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern is also in shock — but he made a point of abiding by Joan’s odd funeral wishes, sharing plenty of bawdy jokes and heartfelt remarks. Although her career was widely based on sarcastic and sometimes mean-spirited jokes about the rich and famous, Joan Rivers has received plenty of praise from fellow celebrities in the aftermath of her untimely death. Howard Stern was especially quick to compliment the legendary comedian, for whom he had long shown admiration. Although the shock jock has yet to mention Joan on Twitter, he did offer up a very touching eulogy at her funeral. In 2012, Joan Rivers made it clear that she wanted her funeral to be a star-studded event, complete with paparazzi, splendid outfits and plenty of off-color jokes. Howard Stern was happy to supply the latter request, expressing his hope that “Joan is somewhere chasing Johnny Carson with a baseball bat.” Howard is also believed to have made a joke referencing Joan’s private parts, eventually referring to the deceased celebrity as a “friend to the world.” On his website, Howard took a slightly more serious approach to Joan’s death, explaining, “You were one of the all time greats Joan, not just on our show, but in all of entertainment.” Do you think Joan Rivers would have appreciated Howard Stern’s eulogy?
