With lame guests like Horse, Cranston, Victoria Jackson etc. an hour is WAAAAY to long. You would think Wigman would know to maybe tighten things up a bit. Shorten the interviews and Robins news. These interviews should be 30 mins tops. Does Howard ever think about his show from analytical point of view? Does he think about ways to improve the show anymore? Shortening these ponderous interviews with these C and D list stars would be a good start.
It seems like Howard starts the interview with a set amount of time in mind, then stretches it out to fill that time slot no matter how boring and repetitive it is. A couple of times it appeared that the interview was ending (and it should have) but Howard kept it going by asking the same questions he already asked earlier and dragging things out way too long.
He does that with commercial breaks. He says lets take a break, then he says 'I see Eric's on the line' Then talks to him for 15 minutes.
His intention is to drag it out, so he fills his contractual 4 hours. Do you seriously think he's going to write bits & song parodies? Or put effort into a game show skit? At this point?
Been wanting to start a thread on this. Jumped the shark. Effing painful to listen to. In an hour interview, there is 10 maybe 15 minutes of substance, the rest is filler. Part 1: AGT, Apple Part 2: guest Part 3: Robins news.
Sometimes I think the show (Howard and Gary) are too nice. Most guests now come in and expect to sit there for an hour. How many times have we heard a guest say 'that's it? I'm done? after 45 minutes. That's why I think we see a lot of the same guests like Jesse and Joan Rivers, whenever they are in town they call the show and want to come in. Gary just cant say no. When you know he probably would like to.
