With Liberty Media rolling up the rugs on what's left of the Sirius/XM experiment (see other post on Liberty Media), and HowardTV closing it's doors, it smells like Howchee is going to have to make a move soon. This is usually the time (2 years left on contract) when we start hearing about "Project X", and all that bull$hit.

The next move for the media/radio business is getting the Internet into cars - whether it's via Cellular or Satellite, or something else. This was something Sirius/XM failed at embracing.

The car companies are pushing for "connected" cars now - soon we'll have the Internet in our cars - giving us access to Pandora/AppleRadio/Podcasts from our dashboards.

Howard is smart enough to know all this - so what's his next move. I can't believe it's retirement. His ego and arm-candy won't allow it. The AGT thing is just about as dried up as Beth's cooch.

He's had a chance to go to podcast - and refused.

    Where does he go next?

Howard doesn't actually take ANY risks. He doesn't invest one penny of his own money in anything. He's not a leader, he's a follower.

So...he'll go wherever his agent tells him to go. It's as simple as that.

Not popular enough any longer to get a deal unless it is for much less money. He is done after this.

Agreed. If there is a way for perspective outlets to see his ratings he does not have a chance in hell of landing a new gig.
You don't think people know the show sucks in the industry? He is nothing more than a carnival geek at this point.

Since AGT has been a raging success I am sure people will be banging down his door.

He'll sit in that fucking 52 million-dollar funeral home all alone, sobbing into his portion of Pellegrino...

"Why does no one love me? Why won't they pay me 100 million a year- I invented compelling talk radio!!!"

What is most bothersome is that no one in the media is critiquing the show and giving an honest appraisal. You don't hear anything about
how agt is a failure. Or that he lost his core fan base. Or how irrelevant he has become. Does he pay off all the rags like the engquire or
    TMZ? The emperors new clothes?

He doesn't have many moves left. He'll never go anywhere that tracks ratings. SiriusXm saved him from that, but was exposed by AGT's "success".

It just sucks that he built up an amazing career with a rabid following just to say fuck you fans. It is like a friend died.

I doubt that. The humor that made Howard famous is now known as "hate speech".

Howard will re-sign with Sirius for literally pennies on the dollar of what he is making now. I don't see him going back to terrestrial and trying to rebuild an audience (and be exposed to ratings). I don't think he will start his own podcast. He won't shell out the money. Maybe if someone pays him to do a podcast, but that deal would be probably based on advertising impressions. Maybe Apple or Pandora will offer him a deal, but Apple is notorious for one sided deals in their favor.

Howard is like that aged Hall of Fame football player who clearly has lost his skills, but refuses to admit it is time to walk away from the game and preserve his legacy. He is Dan Marino in his last few years in Miami. He will not go away until no one is willing to pay him. He talked for years about not turning into Soupy Sales who mailed it in his final years on WNBC and became a joke of himself, but that is exactly what he has done.

He will re-sign with Sirius for 10s of millions of dollars a year.
