I apologize - I haven't listened much this week, but I happened to hear his and Robin's lame ass attempt to explain the significance of Pete Seeger's death to some fake "random" caller. The two of them were quite pathetic when they were presented with the opportunity to explain how important of an historic figure this person was in the US culture.

First - yes at least at some point in time he was part of the communist party, but there are people who are theoretical communists and there are people who are like Soviet communists. And he was not one of them. He was a US Vet who fought in the war and sang often of his experiences. A patriot who sung about his country with pride. Yet he was hauled before the House on Un-American Activities and was convicted for refusing to testify in witch hunt. His testimony is nothing short of brilliant.

When Pete Seeger's rights were violated he stood up for himself and went to jail. When Howard's rights were violated he said waaah and got Mel to pay the government off.

Pete Seeger sang of war, country, fun stuff and childrens' songs. He lived his life as a fulfilled person not a facade shell of man running around pretending to be "honest". It's because of people like Pete Seeger that Howard Stern can click open a microphone every day. And he knows it- he should feel pretty low to have not given proper recognition to a true American icon and performer.

The lame brain Robin plucked some halfassed versions of his songs off the internet to play on air and cackled away about how he couldn't sing his own songs. All he DID was sing his songs over and over year after to year to young and old alike, because people wanted to hear him, and yeah he varied them up from time to time. The cackling pretend radio star couldn't even understand how a performer might change a song he sang 1000 times to do something different.

Big Pete Seeger fan here, I like that song that goes "workin' on the night moves, talkin' bout some front page drive in news".... also, liked his classic "In The Year 2525" when he was half of the singing duo Seeger and Evans. Much respect.

What do you expect from Howard? He's a judge on a gong show rip off.

At least Howard correctly said Seeger invented "tworking" whatever that is. I wonder if it is similar to twerking.

Just a minor correction... he didn't fight in the war, he was transferred to the performer wing of the military after some service as a mechanic and performed for the troops.

I was joking. Not about the song, but the first post pretending to mix up Bob with Pete Seeger. Well, I guess I won't be trying out a career in comedy any time soon:sadbye2:

I saw Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie once. I thought that they were good. But then I'm old enough to remember coffee houses, the draft, Viet Nam war protests, and when folk music was big. And so is Howard.

"Robin, Pete was a huge fan of mine. We'd have had him in, but his management never called Gary to be booked."

Howard doesnt know who his audience is. He thinks hes talking to 18-24 year old males only.
Ntw I saw Pete and Arlo together too, took my folks- a nice memory :)

You're right, it wasn't. I guess I thought since he jumped to a fake caller to start the topic it was something he wanted to train about, but no it wasn't a tribute. It was just a lame, inadequate, retarded discussion, and he should listen back to hear what douche he sounded like.
