Oh, wait: Howard has yet to mention one of his closest friends roasting the president of the United States, one of the biggest moments of Kimmel's life.

    Oh, well.

    Too bad.

He and Artie & Rick spoke on air via phone ..Artie
lathered him up pretty good ...thus insuring another
guest spot on his moderately successful show :hhh:

Meh, I thought Kimmel's performance wasn't that great. Understandably he was a little nervous, but it felt like he was just reading a script and was rushing through it to get it over with. His delivery and timing was all off and he didn't appear confident. I still think Colbert's was one of the best in recent memory. He went up there and tore Bush a new asshole.

Jimmy Kimmel is Beth's friend - not Howard's.

Kimmel ruined some of his better lines. I agree- his timing was terrible.
He had some superb material but compared to Obama's delivery, Jimmy's performance was like watching The Monkees having to follow opening act Jimi Hendrix or the Rolling Stones following James Brown on the T.A.M.I. Show dvd.

I agree. It's pretty bad when the President does a better set than the comedian they hire. :jj:

Whether Jimmy did good or not is irrelevant. Beth did terrible and Howard did 5 minutes on her attrocity. The Fact of the matter is Howard should have atleast donated 5 minutes to Kimmel's roast to the President of the United States of America.....The other fact is Robin was not about to mention Jimmy Kimmel during her news.....She never gets the invite.

Howard is jealous that Jimmy is officially a bigger star.
Kimmel has a bigger key demo than Stern right now!
Howards daily radio audience is at a 30 year low.
Sterns radio demo is old and Jimmys is young.....:yay:

    This is exactly my point.

And if he did bomb -- which I don't believe -- then Howard has all the more incentive to talk about it.

Robin not bringing it up in her news is the real tell tale sign. This kinda story is the epitomy of Robin's News....and if it were anyone else she would have brought it up. Her disdain for Jimmy is beyond repair unless she gets an invite to next years Celebration of Howard.

Nobody's going to top Colbert any time soon. I swear, watching his performance made me want to jump up and cheer.

I tried to watch it but my cable was in and out at the time...but from what I visually was able to make out was a kool, calm Kimmel.

CSPAN's posting of the video has 4,317 likes, 113 dislikes.

If Kimmel really did bomb, wouldn't the numbers be reversed?

Also, I read a lot of media coverage, and the general consensus was that he did well, but he was nervous.

Colbert is amazing (with or without his great writers), and undervalued. There is something very special in our midst and his comedic batting average will be looked on in wonder in the future. I'm always behind in viewing so I'm thinking of skipping The Daily Show entirely just to keep up with Colbert.
