I never subscribed or saw anything from it but I wonder if the attempt to suck up to NBC via signing on to AGT is an subtle acknowledgment that his lame attempt at producing TV via Howie TV is a abject failure.

i subscribed to howardTV as soon as it became available but cancelled about 4 yrs ago as the vacations and days off became more frequent. i cannot see how anyone can continue to support HTV know ing that howard pockets a bigger % of the proceeds from this vanity project as compared to sirius where he's on "salary" and we have the option of listening to other programs.
actually, i don't think i'd subscribe to HTV even if it was free.

I was a Howard TV subscriber since day 1 and cancelled just last week.

Reason being that with the lack of new shows, there is simply not enough new content that justifies to continue paying for the service. In addition their choices of what new content to air leaves much to be desired (too much agt talk)

    Also
As for episodes from the vault, they rely far too heavily on the sirius era, ignoring much of what made the 90s Stern so great. Hell they could just post half hour episodes of Robin's news from the 90s era with jackie and billy but they refuse to.

Many of Arties' most memorable moments have been whitewashed from history. If the reason for doing this was to protect Artie's mental state during recovery, I can understand, but it is still dissapointing.

Most of the edgy controversial episodes from the past are not shown any more, in favor of Beth and her friend Jill visiting and bullshit like that

As for new htv only content, the quality has fallen off a cliff. Back at the beginning of the HTV era they would have "show in the hallway", "week at the christy farm", "a beetle reality series", "Ms. Howard Stern" reality series, "Bigfoot" reality series, "Killers of comedy" on the road series, "Porn Star Theatre w/ Richard Christy", "Trip to FLorida" week, just to name a few

Now we are left with 15 minute segments of Rachel Fine interviewing a cast member. Give me a fucking break

Better off just catching classic Stern on Youtube

I could swear a while back Howard muttered something, when asked a question about Howardtv, that it was owned by NBC.

    [h=1]Howard Stern Inks In Demand Renewal[/h] [h=2]Howard TV Subscription VOD Service Remains Available To 40 Million Digital-Cable Households[/h] [h=3]Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 1/13/2011 1:20:15 PM[/h]

    Howard Stern remains In Demand.
The shock jock, who last month re-upped his contract with Sirius XM Radio for five more years, has renewed his agreement to continue the Howard TV On Demand subscription video on demand television channel.
[IMG]According to the pact between Howard Stern Productions and In Demand, financial terms of which were not disclosed, Howard TV will continue to offer over 40 hours of uncensored high-definition programming each month, with unlimited access to the video versions of Stern's Sirius XM daily radio show, selections from the extensive television archives (including the uncensored versions of his E! shows), original programming and behind-the-scenes content.
The parties' previous SVOD contract was set to expire at the end of 2010.
"After nearly 30 years in terrestrial and satellite radio, Howard Stern has secured his spot as a ‘must listen' for legions of fans," said Bob Benya, In Demand president & CEO in announcing the new deal. "We are thrilled that he will be continuing his iconic show, and proud to be able to deliver Howard TV to cable audiences around North America who want to see Howard Stern in action."
"The production staff at Howard TV looks forward to continuing to entertain Howard Stern fans with our one-of-a-kind programming via original series, specials and the exclusive daily shows from Howard's radio studio," noted Howard TV executive producer Doug Goodstein. "Our commitment is to give fans an in-depth viewpoint of the world of Howard Stern unlike anything on television."

You'll know that Howard is trying to squeeze a few scheckles out of the remnants of his audience by airing agt scenes on Htv when bobo starts calling in and saying what a good idea it would be.

That post was somewhat convoluted. A month ago, I posted:

    http://www.dawgsaloon.com/showthrea...t-Howard-Stern?p=673888&viewfull=1#post673888

    which included:

"I earn 3 different paychecks, Robin. Siri gives me one, but NBC gives me two. Therefore, NBC is my primary job."
    - Easy one first: Siri - one paycheck, although apparently, XM contributes to it
    - NBCU
Comcast owns 51% of NBCU (GE owns rest - this is as of Jan, 2011. Before then, GE owned 80%.)
iNDEMAND LLC is owned by: Comcast iN DEMAND Holdings, Inc., Cox Communications Holdings, Inc., and Time Warner Entertainment - Advance/Newhouse Partnership. While I haven't seen a percentage, Comcast is listed as owning "a non-controlling interest" meaning less than 51%.
So, the only one giving Howchie 2 paychecks is Comcast. They own a lot more than just NBCU and iN DEMAND. Other companies we've heard about on Howchie's show which they own include E!, G4, Style, and Fandango, while NBCU owns USA, CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, and SyFy.
Thus, if anyone is giving Howchie 2 paychecks, and thus, demanding more of his loyalty, it's Comcast.

    Were you adding something new?

30 rock is one block away from the sirius building, couldn't be more convenient for meetings, there's probably a tunnel to connect the two properties
