Tonight Mr. Mamet, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, will direct Al Pacino, Donald Sutherland, Michael J. Fox, Don Ameche, Christopher Walken and Lindsay Crouse, among other stars, in what he called ''a vastly unusual theatrical event'' to benefit homeless Vietnam War veterans in the Boston area.

Titled ''Sketches of War,'' the one- night performance at the majestic old Colonial Theater is an ambitious program of plays, readings and songs on the subject of soldiers and veterans. The program will include the premiere stage performance of Mr. Mamet's short play ''Crosspatch,'' which is set in a convention hall with three people speaking to a group of veterans. I couldn't yell at him like Kay did. I am not kidding. I hate Kay even if he was a killer.

you're talking about the scene in Godfather II when she tells him she had an abortion? The way he transforms in that moment is awesome. "It was an abortion Michael, and abortion, a son and I had it killed because this must all end!!"
