In May I developed a detatched retina and had it repaired. One of the side effects of that is developing cataracts which I did. Had the surgery the other day for the first eye. I've been wearing glasses for 50 f'n years and now my right eye is 20/25 vision. I'm driving in my car and say (very loudly) to myself "This is fucking awesome." I'm seeing things I never noticed before, even with glasses. I literally feel I've been living in a different world from normal sighted people my whole life and now I'm free to join them. I also have much more empathy for blind people. That must be the worst hell. To say this is a life changing experience would be an understatement. If you are considering lasik, or need cataract surgery, run to it now. Can't wait to get the other eye done in 2 weeks.
