it turned out delish. obviously it's not even close to as good as it would be if it were smoked, but it was still tits.

one small (@ 2 lbs brisket), 1/2 jar weber honey bbq sauce & 1/2 jar guy fieri brown sugar & bourbon bbq sauce, yellow mustard, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, tarragon, chili powder, black pepper, and a few other things. cook on low for like 12 hrs in crockpot.

in the crockpot (through the lid so that i didn't lose steam in the crockpot):

just out of the crockpot, resting:

finished product on buns with extra sauce and some oven roasted fingerling potatoes with lemon, tarragon, salt, and pepper:

I'm thinking of smoking a brisket on the 4th, since it seems like the weather here will not be conducive to hanging out at the pool...

Any advice on rubs and such would be greatly appreciated. :hat:

looks great! just fired up the smoker for an 8 lb pork butt

    this works well..

    3 tablespoon ground black pepper
    2 tablespoons salt
    1 tablespoon white sugar
    1 tablespoon onion powder
    2 teaspoons mustard powder
    2 teaspoons garlic powder
    2 teaspoons chili powder

    i sliced it! :cheer:

i have an electric knife that my gf's mom bought me for christmas one year. i thought it was stupid gift at the time because i associated electric knives with hokey 1970s kitchen nonsense. but it is a major tool in my kitchen toolbox now and i love it. it's great with thanksgiving turkeys, too.

Thanks! I always seem to have a problem with sugar in these types of recipes, tho. I guess I'm just more of a spicy/savory person...

i don't have a standard rub i use. it's always some combo of salt, pepper, chili powder, cayenne (sometimes), cumin, onion powder, garlic, brown sugar, and...i can't remember what else. there are true bbq'ers here who can help you out way better than i can.

    thanks buddy! :)

    thanks kwpk! :cheer:
