If everyone here hates Howard so much, why do they watch? Why talk endlessly about him? Why is the forum even in existence? Is ANYONE here pro-Howard? Just asking.
I posed this question long ago and was run out on a rail. It is a hate forum. Nothing more. I try to avoid it as much as possible.
I still listen everyday , Some I like , Some I don't (fast forward). It's not the same as it was with Jackie or Artie or John and Kasey but I flip through the other channels and can't find anything to draw my attention
I'm here for the thoughtful discourse on ethnic groups, politics & religious affiliation. That and the chicks.
Does he still keep a Real Doll sitting in a chair, on the set? I always wondered if he ever tried it out.
This. The show has changed a lot, but I still love the guy. He's given me a lot of laughs and entertainment for the last 20+ years.
I used to love Howard and listened everyday. I no longer listen because at some point the show stopped being funny but I still love his fans.
Instead of laughing with him, like we used to for all these years, we're now laughing at him. That's all.
The show used to be pretty much a bunch of people hanging out and busting each other's balls. Somewhere along the line Howard and Robin Ophelia turned into sophisticates and stopped busting balls (they were not only "off limits" but would reprimand and go into passive/aggressive threat mode against anyone who dared offend them) . We simply have picked up where the show left off. The only difference is the level of writing is better here than the HSS (though the pay is about the same).
I don't think it's so much as a hate The Howard Stern show in general, but most of us used the love the show back in the day they way it was with a truly irreverent Howard, and perhaps when he still had some level of humility and appreciation for what he'd achieved in radio. Also, there used to be a lot more creativity and thought put in the show when the staff was much smaller. Even Blobin had the occasional humorous comment/insight back many years ago. Now the show has become a three day a week formula of commercialism and boring interviews to fill the time. Coupled with Howard's new-found political correctness that he's obviously trying to build to set himself up as a potential mainstream member of entertainment. Generally gone are the days of doing bits on the show that take some time to set up and are really funny. Occasionally, fragments of the old show still rear up and are funny. Those are the moments that I still listen for and I'd guess why people here still listen as well. However, I'd say that Howard has become Imus. And it's sad.
