    He is trying to get back into the mainstream and if web activity is any measure then his recognition dropped drastically after his move to pay radio. I think he felt compelled to do this despite loving all his time because he wants to "relevant" again.
    Think of all the new fans he'll have from this who never even heard his show before.
    Also it's another opportunity to use AGT as a negotiating tool against Sirius/XM.
