What in the fuck is Howard talking about?
There's a bunch of 'em in Palm Beach County. I could be guilty.
Howard hates when people stereotype Jews -- but it's perfectly fine for him to stereotype southerns, blacks, Arabs, Indians, Mexicans, etc.
Maybe it's a Florida thing...but I never hear that in Louisiana....It's the blacks! jj
Lived in Alabama, Louisiana, Texas...it's all about the blaaccks.
Everything Howard knows about southerners he learned from Borat/Bruno.
Growing up in NYC to Southern Baptist parents, i heard such pronounciations a lot -- from Jews. I learned early on that, Howard isn't alone when he describes anyone, born south of the garment district, a hillbilly. I was even asked if my dad likes whittlin'
there are lots of people who are obsessed with the joos and stereotypes are around because to a certain extent they're true but who in particular was howard referring to and what was the context (i'm an expert of course)? maybe being jewish myself i can enlighten (or agree) with some of the myths and truths about my fellow ethnics.
Howard loves to stereotype people, just don't mention Jewish stereotypes.
Persecution complex -- as a Jew, he wants to feel hated. I've lived in the South my whole life, I honestly have never heard anyone talk about Jewish people like Howard claims. It's reminiscent of Artie's "GIT OVER HERE!" Southern voice.
Then again, I think every New Yorker ends words like "saw" with an r.
George Wallace had a speech writer he had to fire because the writer kept on wanting to rail on the Jews.
Wallace fired him saying something along the lines of, "most people here don't know any Jews and if they do, they don't care. I want more speeches about the A group of lovely people."
Something like that.
I was born, raised and still live in North Carolina. I've never heard anyone rail against the jews here..seriously. In fact, most people I know support the hell out of the jews, I'm southern Baptist, Jesus was a jew, we kind of support the jews..Howard is so off on most stuff like this it's gone beyond hilarious to it's just kind of sad now..
One of my best friends as a kid was a Long Island Italian. When we first met, he assumed I knew how to do the Luke Duke slide across the hood of a car.
I did, but still, the stereotyping really really hurt my feelings.
But at least that's a cool stereotype! The assumtions thrown my way were illiteracy & cousin marrying
But who can blame you? Daisy was freaking HOT.
howard is delusional about this (in addition to almost everything else in life).
with the exception of davida duke and the muslims, the only other group who refer to jews as "those joos" are african americans(blacks). southerners are some of the nicest people i have ever met. i cringe when howard gets into his heehaw voice.
I live in rural North Carolina. Within 10 minutes of my home are 4 illegal moonshine stills. I'm surrounded by poorly educated, ignorant people many of whom live hand to mouth and I've never heard a single one of them say anything about the "Jews". Rarely hear the word "Reggie" here anymore either.
i've heard it but just without the venom howie tries to contain. it's usually but a bumpkin who is just saying it matter of factly...it's the same people who may or may not know whether jews have horns and it's pretty innocent as they don't know any jews. it's like some of the older people calls blaeks "coloreds" or "negroids".
You're avatar reminds me of when I was a kid we were driving through NC on vacation and we bought a case of Blue Devils soda pop. I have no idea what flavor they were going for, but its burned in my brain as the worst ever.
Cheerwine is the bomb!
