It's an end of an era for me. I've been a member since '05 and it kind of saddens me to cancel. The show has hit rock bottom and I'm not going to pay $20 a month not to be entertained.

I went cold turkey several years ago and never looked back.

    Best move I ever made.

You won't even notice it's gone. I used to wonder "What the hell am I going to listen to when Howard quits?!"

When my subscription ran out a year or so ago, I had a hard time renewing because my card number had changed, and I couldn't remember my account name and password crap. Also the serial number had worn off the back of my radio so they couldn't look it up. After 2 or 3 days without listening I realized I hadn't even noticed or cared. I called and told them not to worry about emailing me my account info. They offered me everything in the world as far as discounts to stay but like you it just seemed like a waste of money.

I can't stomach paying someone for a service they put zero effort into.

I tried to cancel my subscription last month but they offered it to me at $6 a month. Seemed like a no brainer. Then again, I just like the music channels and the Jason Ellis show.

THSS is definitely not worth $20. I'd put the value at $4 today. But there are other channels.

I did the same thing this time last year.

SXM knows exactly what kind of draw HS is and these days he's NOTHING.
The Howard Stern Show will go into the sunset in another 8 show days or so.

What on earth are you going to do with that extra 6 hours a week you've just freed up?

You aren't kidding. That's exactly what made me cancel. I wasn't thrilled with the direction of the show over the last few years. But the last month has been painful to listen to.

I was happily paying for it....until they cut it off without notice. So.... now I make up a new email address each month and get the app for free. It works. I use some combination of freesirius in the name haha.

I took a listening break for years (probably stopped around 2006 or so) and then I got a car with free Sirius last summer. At first I was all, it's so good to hear the show again (re-runs). Then I started getting the big picture and was shocked at what I was hearing...I mean, I could not believe my own fucking ears. WHAT HAPPENED TO HOWARD?!?!

So I started doing some research and found this place, which features posters who have forgotten more about Howard & the history of the show than I will ever know, and who feel the same way I do about the fraud and hypocrite HS is (and probably always was). I found my people!

Yeah, I'd rather see the stern show disappear than know what it's turned into. It's sad. That was an excellent show.
