    i tried to make my own pie once...it looked more like a cobler...tasted good though...nice work!

    Congrats, looks beautiful - I can make bread/pizza dough w/ my eyes closed but I just cannot make pie dough, always falls apart when I try to put it in the pie plate. What recipe did u use?

    I used a food processor to chop in the butter/shortening and i froze the butter/shortening first (recipe calls for all butter, i did half butter half shortening) And i made sure my water was ice cold.

    I also make bread/pizza dough all the time. I recently switched to Type 00 italian flour for my pizza dough and it has changed my life! Unbelievable.

    I ain't a scientist, but I play one on TV. :D

    It looks really good - pie crust is hard to make. Only thing i would do is pinch/crimp the edge of the crust, but that's just a cosmetic thing. I'm sure it's delicious!

    I agree.

    It was a conscious decision to not go for the nice cures on the crust as I wasn't sure how to do it and i wanted to get it in the oven before my daughter went to bed.
