How long have you been drinking? How much and how often?
And did you believe yourself to be an alcoholic?

I've been drinking for 25 years. I don't know what necessarily constitutes an alcoholic anymore. I've identified myself as a "high-functioning" drunk for a long time, because I work hard and keep a busy schedule of other activities. My GP wanted to know if I have more than five drinks a week, because that would be too much.
The issue right now is I drop a hundred a week on whiskey at home and I'm out at bars another three nights a week on average, so I'm spending WAY too much money on booze. I'm also in the process of losing weight and I've hit a wall that I can't get under, despite the fact that I eat well and work out like a savage. I think booze = all the extra calories, and I expect to drop the last pounds if I dry out.
