That HBO miniseries on Yonkers housing wasn't too bad. I just finished watching the first two parts. I'll probably stick with it. Parts 3 & 4 air next Sunday at 8, I think.

Watching CNN's series "The Seventies" on DVR...followed by The Hunt with John Waish...not bad. It will get me through until Showtime's "The Affair" and "Homeland" and MLB playoffs start up.

Surfed across "Intervention" last night for the first time in years. Makes me think my life isn't so bad.

One dude was clean for 128 days and then relapsed. Don't know why but it broke my heart.

The new zombie show on AMC starts this weekend.

Unfortunately, I doubt there will be many twists or surprises.

How is that? From the description it seemed to reek of "progressive" ideals and white knights fighting rich, evil whitey to help out that group of lovely people. I was guessing it was just more HBO leftie propaganda.

After watching the 49ers play the other night im not really sure that's a good thing at this point.

The Last ship is pretty good. And I'm riding out Falling Skies till the bitter end.

HBO Go is what you should be using. On Demand is garbage

I know what you mean. What attracted me to the story was that it takes place in Yonkers and I used to work there in the 90s (although we were practically in Hastings). I though it might be as you describe. Actually I think they capture the anger and fear many whites had back then. Even the main character was against desegregation. But once he became Mayor, he realized he had no choice but to comply. The judge comes off as kind of an asshole. But they also show how difficult it was for honest people who lived in those projects; how much shit they had to put up with in their buildings, like drug sales in the elevators. You understand why whites were worried.

I've grown to hate NFL. It's pointless with the modern rules. Top 5 QBs make the playoffs, bottom 5 QBs finish near last place. The other teams finish with 6 to 10 wins just based on pure luck. All these other "star" players seemingly have no actual impact on wins and losses.

what has turned me off about the nfl is the commercials every other minute, the reviews( did he complete the catch) , the non stop sideline shots of qbs and coaches. i used to watch all the games on sunday but now i can only stand to watch the chargers and i start an hour later so i can fast forward.

ya, as I get older, theres a lot of shows that I avoid for that reason. one is cops, used to love that show, but now I hate seeing people at their lowest, not fun. what a shitty job policing is. I don't know how they go home at night, normal. I avoid that show like the plague.
