Two years ago I was pretty tight at 115. I'm female, 5'1".

My form of exercise was walking home from work quickly (3.85 miles in just over an hour) 3-4 times a week. I won't join a gym or go into a public pool.

I picked up a hobby that requires a lot of devoted time so I don't do the walk or anything else anymore. I'm now 139lbs and feel I look awful. I'm not myself at this weight.

I'm vegetarian and although I can eat better, I don't necessarily need to cut calories. If anything, I consume too few calories (making my body feel it's hungry so it retains the fat).

I don't know if I'm really asking for advice. Maybe I'll turn this thread as a public way of noting my progress because I've GOT to get active again and get back to my fighting weight!!!! Maybe even post pics of my befores and afters (yikes!).

Sorry, that's ridiculous. You eat too many calories. Stop eating so many calories, go back to walking a little, and you'll lose most of the weight. It's not a big deal. Hope you feel better.

I'd suggest low carb, but it doesn't really mix with vegetarianism. :nocheer:

Good luck. Wish you lots of success.

Veganism, no, but it's still pretty easy to go protein crazy if you eat dairy and eggs (classic vegetarianism is lacto-ovo). "Low-carb" isn't all bacon all the time, is it?

I don't eat eggs and I have very little dairy. I think I consume at most 900-1,000 calories a day.

Very hard to believe. At that intake, you could walk a mile a day and reach your goal weight in two weeks. (If the numbers were accurate of course.)

I don't have an iPhone but yes, have looked up the calorie counts of foods I eat in an average day which is how I came up with my calorie tally.

I kept a log of what I ate/drank today as an fyi:

Pre-breakfast: Coffee w/splash of Almond Milk

Breakfast: Cup total of sliced watermelon, strawberries, pineapple (all combined equaling about a cup). Scone w/dried raspberries. Coffee w/half and half. Water.

Lunch: Cup and a half total of cooked chick peas, salad mix (no dressing), cucumber, avocado. Handful of potato chips on the side.

    Post-lunch: Coffee w/Half and half.

That's it so far today so you can see how I eat few calories a day. I may need to buy a protein drink mix to get more protein in my diet.

At night my bf and I eat together and will share junkier food like pizza, nachos, veggie pot pies, or veggie burger and fries. Each of those is a typical dinner. We may have a cookie or two for dessert most nights.

Thanks! I love making smoothies w/tofu, almond milk, then fruits and nuts. I have to get back into it and stop w/the cookies. :)
