If nothing else, you have to give Howard some credit on how creatively he can spin his failures.

Producing? A producer's #1 job is to secure funding for a project. Obviously, Howard was unable to raise funds to get projects off the ground. He's no go-getter when it comes to contacting people and doing difficult work. Either he just sucked or he tried to hire people to do all the work under his production company's name.

Or maybe he thought he could get someone to produce for free. (or for minimum wage)

He probably also did not want to pay the people he hired very well.

According to his rant this morning, he tried to do it all himself and "should have hired someone"

He also claimed to write his books himself (with "a little help" from Ratso), but his voice trailed off before finishing that sentence.

How can you quit something that was never done?

He actually quit talking about producing projects.

In other words, he was just lying again..........

anybody got any idea how much money Howard received as executive producer of that forgettable tv show? Did he do it for the glory or did he get some major dollars for the use of his name?

Also as regards The Howard Stern Production Company, the only projects associated with that entity I could find on IMBD were as follow:

The show was Tim Stack's. I'm sure they just used Howard's name to get funding and to plug the thing on his show. He also plugged horse faced hookers he found on set. Poor bastard is so stupid, he married one.

Howard's always screaming that he doesn't have enough time, which begs the question, what exactly is he doing with his time then? (talking about before AGT) I mean you got 2-3 day a week shows now, it doesn't sound like there's any creative meetings after the show anymore, so I'm assuming he goes home. His kids are grown up, parents don't seem to care if you are visiting them or not, etc. Shit, if he really really wanted to produce a movie or TV show he would MAKE TIME like he did before with Son of the Beach or Private Parts or even AGT now. I call BS on this shrink guy until someone actually photographs him going into and out of a building that has a shrink's office in it.... repeatedly.

more bullshit, that was the same reason why he blew off so many projects because the people involved wouldn't let Howard have complete control or do rewrites, etc. even if it was a bit part. And now if he has complete control, he doesn't have the time to deal with it?

Nothing...he does nothing with his time off. I'm willing to bet that he sits at home staring at the clock for hours on end while his stomach grumbles as he contemplates when he should indulge himself with six almonds.

Right. Howard the wonder producer. Give me a break. The man hasn't stuck his neck out since he was fired by NBC. I can just see Howard going home and pitching projects to studios and hiring writers and directors. Not in a million years.

No idea how much he got for Son of the Beach, but it wasn't that much because they basically licensed his name. Howard's role is evident by the fact that he owned none of it. He was basically paid while it was on the air. When it went to DVD, he received nothing and bitched like hell about that and refused to promote the DVDs. If he were an actual producer, he'd own some rights to it and would have certainly been paid. Sounds more like Oprah's Sirius deal to me. They basically just licensed Howard's name and gave him producer credits. You can do absolutely nothing and negotiate producing credits. Actors do that all the time.
That's always his excuse. I used to think there was truth to it, but now I think he purposely sabotages deals because he is afraid to stick his neck out for anything. Howard likes being an employee.

But he complains that Sirius doesn't treat him "like a partner". He wants to have all the power, none of the responsibility, and every last motherfucking marble he can find.

If he would come up with an original idea he may be successful. Porky's remake, not original. Son of the Beach, a Baywatch rip-off.

Then, he joins a Gong Show rip-off.
