My company bought out a rival recently and the deal closed. We're now going through integration and they're reorganizing from top down. They're at my bosses level, which was due last Friday.

Today, my boss was acting weird, and tonight a bunch of meetings showed up on my calendar. For most positions, they're choosing between my company and the one we bought. They chose the other company for his boss...

Gonna be an interesting day tomorrow :/

See if you can get him to give you a raise before he departs. It can be his one last parting shot, an extra 15k a year or so I would suggest as the perfect Fuck You!

Also, if you get called in to justify your position, I'd go with this tried and true method:

    He wasn't part of shitgate.

He's not well liked in my group. He delegates everything and is falling hard for the sales pitch of a less than ethical vendor.

The vendor offers executive coaching and they're billing almost $250k/month. They've expanded to a staff of 7, all based In Ireland and travelling to the states once a month. Their task is to revise our methods to an industry standard, but what they're doing is just incorporating their standard (which they've sold to others). They've also sold the same standard to the people we just bought and my boss just signed them up to harmonize the methods of the two companies (they already are, but they're billing a fuckload for it)

To make matters worse, they have a sister company that does project management services. That company has grown to about 15-20 people and bill almost $1million/month. Over a year into this and they have yet to complete a project.

We just found out that the person that heads the pm business is actually a full time employee of the executive coaching company, creating a huge conflict of interest, in that the pm has visibility into what we budget for a project and the executive coach helps set the priorities so all their projects get selected.

I worked for a company for 5 years. There were staff reductions about every 90 days. It kinda sucked always looking over my shoulder. I was laid off then the boss who laid me off was laid off the next day. Didn't make me feel any better.

I'm not overly enthused about his demise. I actually like the guy and like how he's very process oriented. He isn't liked by others that don't want a process and can bullshit their way through life while those that play by he rules get fucked.

The only real thing I can't live with is his dependence on these two firms. They're clearly bilkig us out of millions and he just keeps expanding their scope.

Never wait. Writes "Dibs" and your name on Post It notes and claim the good stuff early.

Oh no. That's not how my place works.

    Here's how someone gets fired:

    1. Hiring manager calls hr and fills out a form.

    2. Your manager calls you on your cell phone (to make sure it's on your person) and asks you to attend a meeting

    3. When you arrive, he's not there. Only hr is there. You never see your manager again.

    4. Hr tells you you're fired and lays out your pvkage, the package is usually good enough to make you obey their demands and sign the termination contract

    5. While you're there, security cleans out your desk, your manager goes through the boxes to make sure nothing work related is there.

    6. You give back your cell phone, it switches on a standard auto reply on your email account, your account is reset to the company standard password (so you can't access it) and your phone message is changed to a default message.

    7. You meet your box of shit at the door and are escorted to your car.

    8. Your security profile is added to a "terminated employee" list. If you ever visit the campus again (cameras at the entrance scan all license plates) security is notified as a yellow threat. Any time a car goes through, a photo of the employee flashes on the security command centers screens. If you're an employee, the border of this photo is green. A visitor and people on "the list" are yellow and banned people are red.

    9. Facilities planning resets your desk to the company standard. One stapler. One pie of scissors, tape and pens. That's it.
