it was all propaganda about why fixies are better than bikes with a freewheel. the industrial fixie complex ("big fixie") has a lot a clout.

but i got a admit, even though the entire premise of the movie was crap, it was fun watching a movie with people riding bikes all around.

[TD="class: text, colspan: 2"] A bicycle with a single gear and no brakes, the type that you used when you were fucking 8 years old.

Is said to be it's own "Sub-culture" but according to a hipster, everything they like is a sub-culture, and everything else is mainstream garbage.

Since it has no brakes, it has no business being on the actual road, and is usually used to ride around the neighborhood to make the user's hipster status higher than all the neighborhood kids.

Pretty soon, every single hipster douche/wannabe is gonna be riding this and believe it's so "indie."
    Hipster- "nice bike kid"

Kid- "better than your fixie faggot bike, i can actual go on the dirt with this bike."

I WISH! it's really a accurate definition though. "oh look at my orange tires. i don't have brakes. i have to stop with my ugly new balance walking shoes. your bike sucks."

The only good fixies were the old schwinns we had as kids with the nice big sissy bar, banana seats with the neon flake colors, and of course a cool slick on the back. If it was chopped that was a bonus.

whoa whoa whoa, stop the clock. When you say no brakes you mean no brakes at all??? My old huffy didn't have hand brakes but if you pedaled backwards it would lock up the rear tire. No brakes at all just seems really, really dumb.

I remember doing some sweet sweet skids with my old schwinn, it had a slick on it. I had a Huffy Thunder Road #4 too, but since that had knobby tires skids were tougher.

The Huffy Barnstormer was a gals bike in boys clothing, I only knew one kid that had one, and it did not work out well for him until he removed the nameplate on the handlebars with the snoopy on it.

I thought it was a really fun movie and enjoyed it. I don't know much about bikes so I can't comment on the whole "fixie" issue. My biggest problem was that the Reggie was driving around in a BMW, how does he afford that delivering packages for $10 a shot in NYC? :dontknow:
