I've been home for almost three hours and it's still under 60 degrees in my house!

My roommate is out of town and I knew I'd be away the last couple days so I turned the heat down. I came home and turned it up but the heater didn't kick on. I had to hit the reset button on the thing. It ran for a bit, then stopped and never kicked back on. I gave it some time, thinking it would, but eventually I reset it again.

I then decided to take a shower. I was so cold, I figured a hot shower would warm me up, as well as relax me after the shit day I've had. I was really looking forward to it. I put a space heater (the same one I used to fix that wine stain) in the bathroom and some comfy clothes to hop right into. I got in the shower and it was nice and hot... but that only lasted a minute or two; just long enough for me to get my entire body and my hair wet, and then it started to get cooler. Then rapidly it went from semi-warm to FUCKING FREEZING!
AND because I'd only been in there a couple minutes, there was no steam and the space heater didn't have time to warm the room, so the bathroom was freezing. I was livid. Worse thing EVER!!!

I keep having to hit the reset and every time I do, same thing: it'll run a bit, then stop.
The radiators are hot to the touch; it HAS warmed up a little but it's still too fucking cold.

I'd rather not call the landlord at this hour (she's kind of old and cranky).
But this fucking sucks. Is it supposed to just run sporadically? I don't see why it would remain off for so long when I have the heat set to 68 and it's only about 58, IF that.

    This fucking blows.

my bet is you have a dirty filter and that eventually led to the heating element getting dirty, which is what's causing your problem now.

Light some furniture on fire. Crack a window, though.

check the batteries in the thermostat, if the radiators are hot it seems like the thermostat isn't calling for heat

if this is an apartment they probably don't have thermostats with batteries. those old things are wired right to the electric.

i ate apples and sliced extra sharp cheddar cheese today for a afternoon snack and now i'm farting like crazy. so i think that puts your heat problems in perspective.
