and i was explaining to him how arcades were everywhere and how huge video games were when i was a kid. i was also pointing out the clothes that we all used to wear.

he said, "you guys would leave the house to play video games?"

anyways... i miss the late 80s/early 90s. good times

Screw video games. How about when kids actually got out and did some exercise?

It's snowing today and there isn't a single kid out playing tackle football.

Stickball, basketball, tag football, wiffleball...we are raising a generation of fat, pasty white shut-ins.

He did think that having to go to the movies because there was no "on demand" or "Redbox" was a way cooler deal.

I took an extra floating day on Wednesday and sprung him after 2 hours of school for a sledding day. Way more important than an average school day. My wife was PISSED but oh well. :D

I didn't have cable growing up.

Try explaining to a kid that at one time there was only one kind of Ritz Cracker, one Coke, two Pepsis, and two M&M's.

yep. and it sucked if you wanted to watch that 3rd movie.

same with cassette tapes. if track 3 and 4 sucked, it was a bitch to get to track 5
