I'm probably going to be buying a new car withing the next few weeks, and I've been looking at Ford, Chevy, and Toyota online. Even for a base model sedan, all their prices are in excess of $20,000. The one that really surprised me was the Toyota Camry, there doesn't seem to be even a base model under $23k. I had a new Saturn ION back in 2004, and the car was relatively inexpensive, but tough as hell. I'm still seeing them on the road now. If I'd kept mine, I'd probably still be driving it, but in a moment of stupidity, I traded it for a Ford Focus in 2006. This is the exact Saturn I had, right down to the color and wheel size. GM should have eliminated Buick instead of Saturn. Saturns were great for kids out of college or people on a budget, and they were sure as fuck more dependable than Hyundais or Kia's. I wish they were still around.
