I have a side by side fridge. The water dispenser is working fine, so there is water going into the fridge, the ice maker however isn't making ice.The metal lever is down, so it's not that.

    Any ideas?

Is your freezer and frig at the normal temp? You may have a heating element in the freezer going out so the coils aren't being defrosted so the freezer is not cold enough to create ice. Can you feel water in the ice trays?

is there a jam of any kind? i dunno what kind of fridge you have but could the water supply line have become disconnected? i'm just spit-balling here. i had the motor that runs the whole thing go out and need to be replaced. maybe there's a warranty? hope that helps.

My fridge is only about 5 years old and sometimes the plastic rollers that push out the ice get stuck/frozen. What I do is take my hand and push them down (not hard) you dont want to break it, but just break it free from the ice. You should here a slight click of the ice breaking. Then put the bar down and see if you hear the trays filling and hopefully you will hear the ice falling out. So far that has worked for me. Good Luck

You most likely have a simple ice dam in your feeder tube. Disconnect it from your ice maker and clean it

no, the trough where the ice usually is, is completely empty. It could have very well have not been making ice for a long time. I don't use it much when it's cold, I only discovered it over the weekend when lots of people were here looking to have icy beverages

where would the feeder tube be? inside or outside of the fridge?
