I'm currently using a large offset smoker and a Weber kettle for my grilling needs, but I'd like to switch to a Traeger or Green Mountain pellet grill. My major beef with my offset is I usually only do 1 or 2 racks at a time and it's a total pain in the ass to get that big ol' faggot up to temp.

What is your grill of choice and do you have anything to contribute in the way of experience and or advice?

Every time I think about downsizing I always end up buying a bigger grill.

    I think I have a problem... I currently own 5.

I like to be able to grill quick. Gots a weber w/ natural gas hookup so I don't need to fill tanks. If I need super high heat I'll use the kettle.

Nothing I said applies to what you're asking about.

Oh, I've got an awesome Weber gas grill that we use for burgers and dogs, but only a godless heathen cooks ribs and or pork but on a gas grill.

I use a Weber kettle and a propane smoker, and really would like to get a Traeger. My only objection to a new Traeger is that they're made in China, and the quality's off a little. However, there is a store in my area that refurbishes Traegers, so I plan to make a trip over there someday looking for a USA made unit.

Yeah, I can't believe Weber hasn't gotten into the pellet game yet... I think the Green Mountain is made here. At least my co-worker says his was.

I can appreciate all that great equip but I just don't cook for many, use the hell out of my weber gas & do ribs in the oven & then onto the grill. would like a small egg or something. the gas doesn't get hot enough anymore for a good crusty rare steak

It's been discussed. My wife did wedding cakes for years and we had a side business we sold a year ago that was also wedding related and I'd really strongly consider it as a sideline... More so because I enjoy it so much then because of any cash flow needs.
