In what I consider the heyday of the show, the mid 1990's, if Howard had the ability to somehow listen to his own show 20 years from 1996 and how it has "evolved" , Do you think Howard would have just quit all together in 2005??? Or would he have been happy by how hilarious the show is nowadays?

I imagine once he saw how much money he would have accumulated, the lack of quality in today's shows wouldn't bother him in the slightest. But then I'm not sure what's more important to him, money of fame? He's all but a speck of shit on the ass of the entertainment industry, so who knows...

Howard has always wanted to be accepted by the Hollywood A-List. Even in "pre-evolved" days.

He always wanted a seat at the cool kids table

When I listen back to the 80s episodes, he used to lose his mind over the fact that Bon Jovi and Sam Kinnison were friends of the show. He was trying so hard to get celebrity guests, and he'd say stuff like "You could meet Bon Jovi. We know those guys. So if you want to meet Bon Jovi, you might want to come on my show."

All he ever wanted was to have a show where famous people wanted to come on and show him some respect. The end game was never fart sounds and stripper games. That was just a way to get some initial attention.

    Exactly.

If you read Private Parts you could tell how hurt he was about the negative reaction he got from A-listers in the crowd when he did the Fartman thing at the MTV Awards. Anthony Kiedis bashed him. Cindy Crawford bashed him.

Now he's flying 3000 miles to sip margaritas with these assholes by a pool at Jimmy Kimmoe's house

He would be beyond happy. This was always the real Howard. A poser who acted however he had to to gain some level of acceptance.
