I was a short order cook at a truck stop for a while, enjoyed it unless some dick came in late after I cleaned the grill. After that I moved on to retail which sucked also

Loans/partial scholarship. My parents paid the interest on my loans while I was in school. For 10 years I paid 110.00 per month until it was paid off.

Combination of loans, scholarship aid and money earned from working retail. The cost was much more reasonable as a % of a family's median income than it is today.

Applied for students loans, they accepted, graduated college, found a job, paying loans. Should be paid off in 10 months.

Parents (I've only come to recognize how fortunate I was in that regard), work (everything from construction to bar tending and even a dash of telemarketing, so help me god)' and a couple student loans (which will finally be paid off this year). In my case, all of it was well worth it and has paid dividends. Unfortunately, not sure that's too often the case for these young'ens coming up nowadays. It's not as much of a sure thing as it used to be.

It can be, you just have to see what fields are really making money and have positions available all the time, that's the ticket. Then you get a degree in that field, whatever you do don't follow your dreams, just find what makes money, within reason of course, unless if your dream job does make money, then go for it.

Combination of sources. When I graduated, I owed about 15K and that seemed like A LOT at the time.

I didn't go to college :( My wonderful daughter did, but it's kind of a sad reason. When her dad passed, there was money for her and we put it in an account and it has paid for nursing school. Luckily for her she hasn't had to take any student loans. She works as a CNA while she finished nursing school, so she supports herself pretty well. Of course I still help her, but she doesn't ask.

I used the Pell grant $ to go to Florida to a dolphins game for my honeymoon. Lol at the time it was a good idea.

Why not pay it off with the job you get from graduating college?

    Texas has the Hazlewood Act.

If you served honorably in the military while a resident of Texas, you, your spouse, or dependents, get 150 hours of college free at any Texas state sponsored university.

Community college for two years on a full scholarship. Worked a ton to save $$$. Partial scholarship + work for undergrad. Then my company picked up my MBA. I'm fucking lucky and very thankful.

I got my real education on the streets, however!

I hope the sadness you feel about not going isn't because you somehow feel less about yourself. I deal with college grads all the time who can't divide or use fractions.
