I have seen every episode of Cops, and apparently 99% of officers don't know this either.

I have several friends who are Police officers, and not one of them has ever referred to the ground as 'the floor'

It has never been said to me by an officer, but they say floor a lot on the show Cops. It annoys me every time.

"Get on the f'ng ground" is a universal command used by the police, and is understood (by most) to not be taken in it's literal context... Much like the phrase "let me see your hands" doesn't generally mean that the police officer would like an up-close inspection of the subjects hands...

They may be patronizing the suspect because of their implied stupidity....OR.. the Cop is simply stupid, himself ....

Neither of those phrases are a very accurate description of ones need to imminently urinate .... But, at least "taking a pee" could imply that one is 'removing' urine from their Bladder (i.e taking)....
