Whoever said ya had to follow the law yourself to be a lawyer...

But yeah it is lunacy to allow someone to practice law while they are actively breaking the law.

Next... a felon will cite this as a right to practice law.

White House over a 1996 federal law that bars people who are in the U.S. illegally from receiving professional licenses from government agencies or with the use of public funds, unless state lawmakers vote otherwise.

Bill Hing, a law professor at University of San Francisco, said the court made clear the only reason it granted Garcia's petition is that California recently approved a law authorizing the state to give law licenses to immigrants

sounds legit by the letter of the law :dontknow:

"The unanimous decision means Sergio Garcia, who attended law school and passed the state bar exam while working in a grocery store and on farms, can begin practicing law immediately."

Another lazy Mexican living off of welfare.

"The court sided with state officials in the case, which pitted them against the White House over a 1996 federal law that bars people who are in the U.S. illegally from receiving professional licenses from government agencies or with the use of public funds, unless state lawmakers vote otherwise."

What? I thought Obama was a super Marxist who wanted to flood 'merica with illegals!!!

Please illuminate us as to how taxes are paid by Mr. Garcia on his law revenues. How exactly does the IRS process that return w/o a EID or social security number?

Also tell us how fair this is to literally millions of people who have filled out paperwork and are waiting their turn to enter legally? Or should the doors be thrown open? There are, after all, "only" about a billion or two people who would give their left nut to live here. Seems quite manageable.

And nobody says Mexicans are lazy, you can work hard and still get housing, food, childcare, medical, and other benefits.

I bet you jump turnstiles and have been caught on camera at Walmart on Black Friday bum rushing the security guards to get your cheap Korean TV on sale. Rules are for suckers, right?

You seem to relish the corrupt chaos of the third world so much you want to bring the mindset of "whatever you can get away with" here.
Maybe we can work out a trade with other nations. You for 100 immigrants.

California does have an odd school system for lawyers. There are non-ABA schools, when combined with passing the California Bar, will allow you to practice only in California (some other states will reciprocate after a # of years). I read that he came to the US when 17 months old, so he's lived his whole life here.

No, another Mexican in a state that doesn't think the law applies to them. If you read the article this guy came here illegally at 17 after previously having been dragged here illegally as a baby and then dragged back to Mexico as a very young child.

But then went back to Mexico as a young child before coming back illegally again at 17 years old.

I find California's actions more egregious. California is officially the guy that hasn't paid you back that $1,000 you loaned him years ago and keeps complaining about how he'll get it to you as soon as he has the money, yet is always able to support his vices. This is what the democrat party has been since 2004 and what the republicans will be in 2014...

So let me get this straight... this man has been in this country illegally for over 2 decades which means he has no social security number so he's never paid a dime in taxes. So he got a free ride through high school and college and now wants the state of California to grant him the right to practice law? That's bullshit! The state should send him a bill for all the public services he and his family have been mooching off of all these years before granting him anything!!!

he can't charge for his services from what I read... just do pro bono with appropriate disclosures about himself... the only thing in his favor is his father, who got a green card tried to get one for this guy, applied for it and it has been pending since the mid1990s

Where is the proof he has never paid taxes? Did his employer pay taxes on his pay? Shouldn't you be mad at the corporate industry that feeds of of cheap labor to sell you cheap produce?

This dude worked his way through law school, and yet you fucks treat him like a welfare queen.

    Classic.
