I've been able to avoid going to a wedding for about 5 years now, with the exception of one that I actually wanted to go to in Vegas.
The one that I went to was my nephew. I'm going to my niece's wedding in Puerto Rico next year but that's pretty much going to be a boricua fuck fest for me and my single nephews.
I grew up in a small town, and all the weddings were cash bars. After moving away, every wedding I've attended since has had an open bar.
I thought I was in a dream. Bring money to a wedding to pay for booze? I just forked money over for an engagement gift and wedding cash. Now we're paying for the drinks? Is this a trend? I thought it was an isolated incident.
Same here...the dry one and the pay one were both at party houses. The dry one was my recovering alcoholic cousin's wedding.
I have a kid getting married in August of 2016. We are lucky her parents have $$$; it is still gonna cost us north of 5k, as parents of the groom. So, I can see if people can't afford buying the booze for everyone.
