My TV bill is insanely high and really no one other than me still watches TV shows in the house. We basically watch Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, Modern Family, Big Bang, and a couple others. Was looking at just having Netflix and Hulu. Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?

Just tried a free week. STILL trying. I guess it isn't too different than Netflix, except recent shows have commercials in them. I figure a one hour show with 3-4 one minute commercials total. Not a lot, but what the fuck am I paying for?

We cancelled our $180.00/month cable bill a while back and now have found out how much free is on youtube. Many shows have full episodes of relatively new shows, commercial free (just have to search), and then for Blue Bloods, which my husband loves, we get the full seasons without commercials at the library. My sister has ROKU and that is only like $8.00/month after the initial installation that my nephew installed for her. At one time, @Nemo (where the heck has he been?) posted here something that gave tons of free TV stuff.

Hulu is great, I opted for the $12 upgrade (No commercials) it's well worth the money. South Park is totally uncensored and they have every episode, that alone made it worth the price of admission for me, I also have Netflix (which in my opinion needs more content ) I'm considering signing up for AmazonPrime they're offering a free month and then $99 for the year.

Amazon Prime isn't worth it for the streaming alone. There's a ton of crossover between the three services, so if you have Netflix or Hulu, you already have access to like 1/3 of Amazon's selection.

Hulu is fine. I consider it an alternative to piracy. Just cancel it during the summer so you're not wasting your money when there's no new content.

Prediction: Mrs. Shiv won't know how to find 1 show and will veto the whole idea.

I got a Roku basically free from SAMs club and it seems like there will be a lot on there. I am not ready to cut our direct tv because of live sports but I'd be interested in learning how others got value from it. It seems I can add Netflix and Hulu plus to my Roku channels. I already have Amazon Prime which is an incredible deal.

Netflix, and Amazon Prime. I have a Roku on my older TV, so I don't have to pay the monthly fee for the cable box. I have basic cable, so I could get the internet ( HBO is part of this package, gotta watch Game of Thrones) and I have no land line.

My cable bill is $64.00 dollars a month.

I have Hulu. If you don't mind waiting a year for some of your shows to be uploaded.
We just started Sling. It has live streaming of the Travel channel, Food Network, and AMC for the Walking Dead, and a few other channels we enjoy. It's 20 a month but still much cheaper than our cable bill.
