They show 2 seconds at a clip of the performances and half the time i don't even know what the act is. Especially the joke acts that they buzz off right away. They have 3 minute interviews with some of the people and then only show 15 seconds of their performances.
It's like the show is targeted at people who have ADD and cannot sit and watch something unless the camera angles change every 1 and 1/2 seconds.
And does anyone agree that the editing is haaaarrrrible and that most of the time the reactions of the audience is not for what is going on at that moment?

I can't watch it anymore....even with Howard..it's too stupid to watch!
I agree the editing...is just ridiculous....the audience reaction sooooo over the top OVER produced...too fake for me...
Howard is to AGT what Ellen WAS to American Idol IMO...."out of place" !!

I still say he SHOULD HAVE been a judge on American Idol....judging SINGERS...NOT a few singers and mostly FREAKS!
impossible to watch this stupid show....IMO

    thank you
    peace & love

That's all Howard Stern is qualified to judge. What in your thought process makes you think Howard Stern has the knowledge to decide what it takes to make it in the world of being a pop star? Shows like AI, The Voice, and X Factor all award multimillion dollar recording contracts. All the judges on those shows are in music somehow; successful recording artist, writer, or producer. Howard is not close to being qualified to decide who should get a recording contract and who would make a good pop star. Freaks are his business not singers. The singing competition shows are more serious than AGT, which is an unabashedly modern day gong show.

Totally agree with you. I can't stand the pacing of AGT, so I've quit watching it. You're right, it IS too fast, and more suitable for someone
who has the attention span of a hummingbird, or something. Comes off like just a big, jumbled, fast-paced mess, to me. I had to go watch
a slower show with quality writing on it to clear my head from AGT. A Mary Tyler Moore rerun was on, so I went with that. Enjoyed it
    a lot more than AGT!

Mary was throwing a bad party in tonight's episode. Good for her! :)

Yeah, the editing. :gun to temple: Any time Howard says one word, IMMEDIATE cut to some girl in the audience with her mouth wide open ... They have a whole database of those canned reaction shots that they can just drop into the video editor like clipart.

But honest to god the most nauseating moment of the first show was the shot of BethO sitting up front, grinning like it was a touchdown dance in the golddigger bowl.

The acts that were put through were terrible. The show is unwatchable. Maybe the New York show will be good but I doubt it. The only fun thing for me is going to be watching the ratings sink.

the show is unwatchable..the way its edited, the moronic acts, step and fetch (i mean nick cannon), the staged pieces..the whole thing to me is a trainwreck and not very enjoyable ...plus howard is not really howard on there..its a poor clone of howard..so i won't watch..not interested..

I watched Monday night and until 9:30 on Tuesday. This was the first time I ever watched the show. My opinion overall is not good. It is so over-produced- sappy music and trying to create interest in generic contestants. The whole feel of the show is amateur hour, like what you'd see in your local community. No one, in my opinion, has been exceptional, which is hard to believe, coming from a nationwide talent search. And although I really like all three judges, there is really no drama or interest in their opinions. And Howard is doing the exact opposite of what he said he'd do. So far, he is judging on emotion, not talent. How is that supposed to be the "revolutionary" judge that he is promoting himself as? Overall grade: D

i did like the earth harp contestant. that was pretty cool. I've never seen that instrument before. but everone else is blah.
based on what howard has said about his judging and then watching the show, he is more like a paula abdul than a simon cowell

It could be worse. It could have the pacing of Dancing with the Stars. Brutally slow. I make my wife watch it now when I'm not in the room.
