I'm surprised Howard doesn't take credit for this idea

I was just reading a story about Kate Upton being asked to prom by a high school kid and she sent another Elite Model in her place. Then last week Dwanye Wade went to a prom with a high school girl in Florida. Then a couple of years ago there was Justin Timerlake and Mila Kunis doing the same thing. It seems around this time a year for the past several years the media picks up on these stories of high school kids asking celebrities to proms, and the celebrities actually going.

I was trying to think of the first time I ever heard about this actually working successfully and then I remembered. Back in 1999 a high school kid from Staten Island called up Howard and asked if he could arrange it for the porn star Houston to go to his prom with him. Howard thought it was a brilliant idea and worked at putting it together. It worked, and it was filmed for the E! Channel and the local media picked up on it. I remember Houston ended up seeing the kid again after the prom.

First, I am shocked Howard never tried to do this bit again. Second, everytime these stories come up around this time of the year he never references that he was one of the first people to follow through and pull this off. I miss when he would think out of the box like this. Now all we get are rehashed interviews with Lisa Lampanelli and Jimmy Kimmel party stories.

I still remember watching that whole saga on the E! channel.
