Juskin’s son said his father had been suffering from dementia. “He wasn’t himself,” Nick Juskin told The Post. “More times than not, he didn’t know where he was. He had Alzheimer’s. He couldn’t hear worth of s- -t.” Authorities noted a “history of domestic issues” with the couple, but the motive remains under investigation.

they had three strikes against them: (1) old age sux because you get more and more sedentary (2) they lived in NJ - this requires no further explaination (3) he still owned an axe. I don't really know why anyone would want to stick around that long, given how seriously the quality of life degrades after approx 70 in our culture.
